It: Chapter 2 – New Line Cinema

If you thought that Midsommar movie was terrifying and bone-chilling, wait till you see the latest It: Chapter 2 trailer. The trailer teaches us one important thing – when the clown is wet, things are going to get bloody. Things got a bit too bloody for the makers as about 4500 gallons of blood was used to create the film.

The It: Chapter 2 teaser trailer was focused on Jessica Chastain’s character as she dealt with trauma caused in 2017 IT film. The new It: Chapter 2 trailer has introduced us with the whole, grown-up Loser’s Club. Richie (Bill Hader), Beverly (Jessica Chastain), Bill (James McAvoy), Mike (Isaiah Mustafah), Ben (Jay Ryan), Eddie (James Ransone) and Stanley (Andy Bean). The gang is all young and grown-up, and you can see the age difference on full display.

The story of It: Chapter 2 builds with time (like most horror films, including Doctor Sleep) as each of the members faces Pennywise, the clown in isolated settings. After that, there’s a final throwdown in which they would probably get rid of the creepy clown for good.

It: Chapter 2 is shot in a modern setting, but it won’t affect the adaption too much. The additional scenes that were shown to the audience at ScareDiego had one specific scene that makes a lasting impression. It is the Orient Reunion Scene which is made more memorable by anxiety-inducing camera moves, use of saturated colours and extremely impacting cast chemistry. (You’ll love the hilarious, grown-up Richie.) Another scene worth admiring is the return to the Neibolt house.

When talking about It: Chapter 2, Muschietti mentioned that the movie is about trauma and the audiences will come to know new details about the Loser’s Club.

It: Chapter 2 is unique as this is the first time an adaptation of Stephen King’s horror classic has been shot after a few years gap. In the earlier adaptations, the story was told in one long production. Muschietti and Warner Bros. have chosen to split the kid and adult portions into two films rather than showing the Loser’s Club as kids and adults in one movie only.

It: Chapter 2 will hit the Australian theatres on 5 September 2019. It’s just a few weeks away!
