Yes, we are talking about the 2020 Corvette Stingray by Chevrolet also known as the magnificent C8. It is also known as the magical, and highly esteemed Corvette with an engine in the middle.

Most of the news surrounding this new car revolves around where its engine sits in the chassis. However, it is only a beginning as far as a reinvention of iconic sports cars is concerned. Similar mid-engine structure has also been announced for the upcoming Aston Martin Valhalla.

Where on one hand, the Americans are still coming to terms with the mid-engine structure, fans in Australia are finally going to get a chance to buy and own this high-performance car.

According to Holden, the all-new Corvette Stingray will be coming to the showrooms in Australia. However, we do not know when as of yet.

Dave Buttner, the Holden managing director said, “Like anyone with a hint of petrol in their veins, we were glued to our screens watching the reveal of the new Corvette.

“The news that Corvette Stingray will now be built in right-hand drive for the first time – and will be exported to Australia – is hugely exciting for our team at Holden and any Australian who loves high-performance cars”, he further added.

If you compare Corvette Stingray to the popular Ford GT, the former makes use of an eight-speed dual-clutch whereas the latter features a seven-speed dual-clutch. Nevertheless, both of these cars carry multiple driving modes.

Further details along with the price in Australia has not been revealed yet. We expect that this information will only be revealed when the car is close to its arrival in local showrooms.

Even though the codename of this model is C8, it will officially be referred to as the Corvette Stingray, due to its signature that started in 1963. Nevertheless, despite the old name, the car is designed to carry the latest technology. Consequently, it may become the most highly demanded “mid-engine American supercar”.

Moreover, it looks like the Corvette Stingray makes good use of high-quality aluminum with an exotic and more expensive carbon-fiber used wherever required in the body structure. Hence, fans should not expect the new performance car to have a price outside of its current traditional market.
