The Night King – Game of Thrones – HBO

Since the disappointing finale of Game of Thrones series and the hopes of the Game of Thrones sequel rumours have been dunked, the fans have been eagerly waiting for details on the already announced prequel. Their wishes have been fulfilled as various reports are coming in that the shooting for Game of Thrones prequel has begun in Ireland. What else do we know about one of the most anticipated series? Read on to know.

UnlikeStranger Things Season 3 that will air in a few days, the Game of Thrones prequel would make fans wait for years. It is expected to be released at the end of 2020 or the beginning of 2021. According to rumours, the shooting for the show has begun in Northern Ireland, a familiar place for GoT fans as that’s where the Red Wedding and the Battle of the Bastards were shot too. There is no word on whether the shooting will be organized in other countries. HBO didn’t confirm this news till the time of writing this article (maybe the channel is busy celebrating the success of Chernobyl series).

Many details of the Game of Thrones Prequel have been unveiled till now. The author George R.R. Martin will work with Jane Goldman and S.J. Clarkson to create the series. The series will be set thousands of years before the events of the original Game of Thrones. Talking about it, Martin earlier revealed that Westeros is a different place as there is no King’s Landing or an Iron Throne. Even the Targaryens are not there yet. Valyria has just begun to rise with its dragons, and the world is older and quite different than what the fans are used to.

A description for the Game of Thrones prequel read that it will be decent to the darkest hour from the Golden Age of Heroes. The cast of the show includes renowned names like Naomi Watts, Jamie Campbell Bower, Georgie Henley and Miranda Richardson. There are minimal details on what roles these actors will play.
