The First Teaser of an All-New Harley Quinn and Co. Movie is Out

The teaser trailer has a smart crossover bit with It: Chapter 2

Recently, a teaser trailer for Harley Quinn and company movie, Birds of Prey, got leaked on the internet. The trailer shows the return of Margot Robbie (Once Upon a Time in Hollywood) reprising her role as DC’s most lovable villain.

Now, it looks like what we got to know about Harley Quinn in the Suicide Squad was nothing more than a grain of salt. The teaser trailer is 34 seconds long and is only supposed to be shown in the theaters alongside ‘IT: Chapter Two‘. This is was a widely reported theory yet fans were not sure whether it was a hoax. However, now we know that it was indeed true!

DC is indeed on to something big since the all-new Joker movie starring Joaquin Phoenix has also seemingly surpassed all expectations.

 

In this all-new run-around, Harley Quin will be the lead character who will face the Black Mask played by Ewan McGregor (one of the most fearful Batman villains of all-time). Hence, ‘Birds of Prey’ is not a continuation of an existing DC movie. Rather, it is a spin-off.

As of yet, enough details regarding the new Harley Quinn movie have not been reported. However, we do know that the script of this movie has been written by Christina Hodson who is also the writer of Bumblee (a spin-off of the Transformer series). At the same time, the director would be Cathy Yan, who also directed Dead Pigs (an indie comedy-drama film). As of yet, we are not even sure whether it will have a link with the upcoming Batman movie starring Robert Pattinson.

 

Well, we may have to keep guessing for a good amount of time. Even though we have the teaser already, it is not long enough to satisfy fans. As a result of this, fans cannot wait to see a little bit more of what the Harley Quinn film has in store!

Nevertheless, the film may not be as unappealing as the Suicide Squad (at least). One interesting thing that we noticed in the teaser is that McGregor only ever appears without his distinct black mask. Chances are that it could be his first look before his gruesome encounters with Harley Quinn have begun.
